week 4

Hey everybody!
I really like working with images when I teach ESL. I believe it is extremely important to use images and pictures when you teach new language. Using images and pictures makes learning a fun process. usually when I teach new words I use images to make the learning easier for the children. There many fun activities you can prepare using images.
You can make crossword giving the images of the word instead of clues.
Images can also make teaching grammar more efficient for example I can show the students pictures of different activities and ask them to write a sentence that will describe the picture.

I cannot imagine myself teaching without using images. I believe it is the best way teaching a second language in a fun way.

The photofunia website is new to me and I am sure I will use it. it looks fun!

week 3

Hey everybody!

I have followed my technology blogs and read about a great site called Vibby.

This site enables you to highlight or write comments on YouTube or Vimeo video. This site is

excellent for teaching since the teacher can add his notes on the screen and do not need to stop the

video every second.

I went into the Vibby website and it is very friendly for the user.

You can also trim the important moments in the video.

Try it out!

Mind Shift blog: How Does Being an Outsider Give You a Creative Advantage?
Being an outsider is not a simple situation though it can be used as a fuel to creativity.
Reading the blog made me think about famous people who has invented greatest inventions but were considered as outsiders at schools. An interesting explanation for this assumption is that we seek to achieve some level of balance between being an individual and being part of a group. Creative people, however, may have a greater need for uniqueness.

Free technology 4 teachers – tips for using YouTube in class
Using ViewPure service enables the teacher to screen only the video he wants without seeing the related sidebar content. It’s free and easy to use. Another tip is creating a playlists of video in order to save your time in class.

Lisa Nielson the Innovative Educator
After reading Lisa’s blog I was asking myself what is my position regarding innovation in class? Of course I am for it but what do I do in order to create innovation in class. One thing I know for sure- I should do more!
